5 Things To Do This Halloween

I'm not normally one to celebrate Halloween; I love seeing all the dark make up, hair and costume styles cropping up on Instagram and Pinterest, but you won't catch me dressing up or trick or treating!  Scary movies are a sort of no go - I'm getting as far as the Paranormal Activity series, but after watching the season 2 finale of Walking Dead (I'm farrrrr behind I know!) anything gory is definitely off limits. I thought I'd share my what you could call my anti-halloween list of ideas for today and this evening...
1. Wear a cosy autumnal outfit ... and where possible match your pets in them too; this week I completed my annual saying goodbye to the summer wardrobe (including maxi skirts *sob*) and unpacked all my knitwear into my main wardrobe, including vintage and Christmas jumpers too! Tomorrow it is November, and the perfect excuse to start wearing everything and anything knitted and cosy 24/7.
 2. Go on a winter walk; today, there was a hint of a blue sky. I'm still not adjusted to the clocks going back, and keep finding it weird that it is dark by 5pm, so soaking up all the lightness possible is top of my daily to do list currently!
3. Have a long bubble bath, and find yourself some pumpkin themed bubbles to add to it such as The Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar from Lush.
 4. Burn your favourite candle; I picked up the Woodwick Fireside Candle (from Boots as part of a 3 for 2) as I spotted it in the gift guide, and am loving the colour grey at the moment, love a crackling wick and the jar design with wooden lid looked lush. After smelling the candle, it is the perfect November candle! I'm eyeing up the rest of the collection now too!

5. Make some Halloween treats; this year I decided to make toffee apples after having a craving for one then remembering they were the one treat I used to make with my Grandad years ago. I had a go at making chocolate apples too, and overall it took me less than thirty minutes to make both!
 Happy Halloween!

The Catherine from Bloom & Wild

"Winter is not here yet. There’s a little flower, up yonder."
Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights

I had a beautiful package delivered the other day; The Catherine hand tied bouquet from Bloom & Wild ; a mixture of pink lilies, roses and wax flower. I never normally spend more than a few pounds on flowers, often shopping at markets for my blooms, but I've been a follower of Bloom and Wild for ages on social media, and after another online window shopping session, I pressed buy! I was especially pleased with how easy it was to select & pay for the flowers, as well as the shipping selections being lenient!

The morning they arrived, I started flower arranging, and in the bouquet there was enough for three jarfuls of flowers and leftovers which I used for DIY which will be up on the blog next week.

I'm now eyeing up letterbox flowers, and half tempted to start getting a three month subscription! I'll be keeping a special eye on festive flowers too! What bouquets do you buy?
