Lush Advent

I have always loved the build up to Christmas - it overrules so many different aspects of my daily life, especially work (Hello rehearsing for a Nativity every day!). I've always loved having a chocolate advent calendar, and it will always be based on something I've loved during the year ... when I was younger it was Minnie Mouse, Me to You Bear or Blue *cringe* ; this year's is Inside Out (favourite movie of the year!).

I've loved seeing all the different types of advent calendars this year too (as you may be able to see from yesterday's post!) and I was considering making an advent calendar but ran out of time. Then I spotted the 12 Days of Christmas Gift Set from Lush ... but didn't want to wait until midway through the month, and wanted to try some other festive products. So I met my thoughts halfway and decided to make my own Lush Advent for this year... 31 different festive Lush products tried and tested over December. I've already brought my first 12 days worth of products, and then will be visiting the Oxford Street store whilst shopping with my Mum & Sister later this month to top up!

If there are any must have festive products I need to try, let me know!

A Selection of Advent Calendars; 2015

Christmas is fast approaching, so to kick festivities off, I've rounded up some of my favourite advent calendars for this year. I had to begin with the most beautiful, lusted after of them all ... The Jo Malone Advent Calendar. Totalling a whopping £260, this is a very different purchase to a normal £2 advent calendar, but after testing a few scents from Jo Malone recently, it's definitely worth it, and have you seen the packaging?!
Lush 12 Days of Christmas £49.95 - this gift set can double as a perfect advent for Lush lovers! This set features some re-released favourites such as Holly Go Lighty, Yog Nog & Dashing Santa to some newbies to try, I'm eyeing up Five Gold Rings.
The Body Shop Advent Calendar £60/80 - This year there are two versions of The Body Shop's advent calendar. What I love the most about the Body Shop's calendar is there is such a wide variety of products inside, and some popular newcomers such as the Oil of Life and the Green Tea varieties.

25 Days of Beauty Wonders from No7 has to be one of the best value for money calendars out there this year... £148 worth of product for £38! If I didn't have tons of No7 in my make up bag already left over from last year (where I definitely didn't go overboard buying No7 crackers!) I would have nabbed this calendar this year! The nail polishes are always such brilliant party colours and the day and night creams are always worth having in an overnight bag.

Yankee Candle 2015 Advent Calender House 11351179  - another favourite especially amongst Bloggers is always the Yankee Candle advent calendars. This year there are so many different versions including the house, carousel, wax melt set and votive sets; the house is by far my favourite. My ultimate favourite scent is Christmas Cookie - I was lucky enough to receive a massive jar of it last year, and have saved it ready for this Christmas!
The Man on the Moon Advent Calendar  £5 - this is only a paper advent calendar, however have you seen the advert?  I've been teaching lessons on the advert, every time I watch it I get a little bit emotional too!

Other calendars spotted; Charlotte Tilbury, Clarins, Liberty, Selfridges, M&S, Benefit, L'Occitane, House of Fraser, Haribo (woohoo!), Lego.

One of my favourite chocolate ones I spotted was the Thorntons Gruffalo Advent Calendar (especially my favourite as I'm teaching that story at the moment!). This year however, I've opted for my favourite movie of the year Inside Out!

What advent calendar do you have this year?

Graduation

Last weekend, I ticked another thing off my 24 by 24 list and graduated from university finally! After five years, I finally got to go to a graduation that meant something to me and my career!

I was up at 5am getting ready, and then after a last minute panic as I'd got the wrong address, took some photos with my new camera.

Selfie with my sister.
After the ceremony itself, we drove to Hemel Hempstead and ate at Dean's Diner. I fell in love with cheese sauce, and had the one of the best dinners out ever!
& washed it down with an oreo and banana milkshake!

Festive ; Pinboard

Pinterest is by far one of my favourite platforms. I love scrapbooking, and saving pictures, clippings and notes of things I love; Pinterest is my quick fix, online, space saving version of all those things. I've not posted a Pinboard in ages, so thought I'd share a few favourite Pins from my festive board.
Let me know the Christmas pinners you are loving ... I'm always on the lookout for new inspiration!
