Borough Box

At the #BigBloggerExpo , one of the brands I met was Borough Box; and I'll say it again, that I loved the bread and honey on that stand! They kindly offered to send me over a box to review* which featured some items from their marketplace and gift hamper range. As an online leader in 'bringing the marketplace to your door' I felt it the perfect fit for someone who loves a good market, and to try new food and drinks.

The Marketplace hosts a variety of different brands where each seller has a storefront to display their products. Woza South African Biltong make South African style products using British ingredients; they were one of the testers at the #BigBloggerExpo and tasted so good. I love charcuterie style meats, and loved them! There were Apple & Pecan paleo bars from Primal Pantry which may be the only healthy snack bar I love. The Nankhati biscuits (shortbread style biscuits) from Chins Kitchen were also delivered on the right day as we were cooking an Indian - I paired mine with mango chutney! The only one I haven't tried yet is Black Vegetarian Caviar from The Vegetarian Caviar Club which is vegan, vegetarian, dairy and gluten free - so a carefree way to create some posh nosh for parties! I just need to find the perfect time to test it out - I honestly have never made canapés, but now may be the perfect time to try, especially living in a part vegetarian household!

The Gift Range has something for everyone, from home bakers, bbq kings and wine lovers as some of the categories available to choose from (I'll pick all three if that's okay?!). Coming from a family of foodie lovers, I had a quick browse on the site and all the gifts looked so beautifully presented, it felt like Christmas was sorted! The miniature spirit selection caught my eye, as did the smores kit!

In the box I received, Whirld Fudge, Basil Infused Olive Oil, Pumpkin Oil and Pink Himalayan Salt were part of the gift range. The fudge, was absolutely divine and was consumed within about an hour of me receiving the box (#notsorry).

The Pink Himalayan Salt has replaced my normal everyday salt - I just need to find a salt pot to keep it in now, even though the pouch is resealable. I've been testing out the Basil Infused Oil on some homemade pizza bases and am planning a pesto recipe. The pumpkin oil I haven't tasted yet, but have been researching recipes and am deciding between butternut squash fritters or pumpkin brownies.

Borough Box have a monthly discovery club, which I honestly want to join up for looking at all the Instagram snaps of the box online, I was getting food envy! They also have a Box Points reward scheme where you earn points on every purchase which you can then use towards future purchases and if you sign up to the newsletter (which I literally just did) you get £5 worth of box points to start you off, pre-browsing your future dream pantry list!

Now I'm off to go and find as many recipes as I can to create some delicious recipes with all my new items (sans the fudge ... may need to just order more of it!) so watch this space for upcoming recipes especially as summer comes to a close, and it'll soon be time for winter comfort food!

P.S. As you can see - Cece was desperate to get in on the action of testing out foods from the box too!
