Christmas Mixtape

It's definitely not embarrassing to admit that I start listening to Christmas songs as soon as summer ends ... right? One of my bucket list to do's, which I keep realising more and more that I need to achieve is to finish collecting my records. I brought loads at the beginning, have picked up the odd few throughout the year, but have nowhere near finished my collection... I'll have to write a wishlist for my birthday! Anyway, today I thought I'd compile a little mix of my favourite Christmas songs to listen to this festive season (and if you click on the song title, it'll take you straight through to Youtube!)

Christmas Mix '16
  1. Darlene Love - All Alone on Christmas : my favourite Christmas song this year, after watching the video, spotting the E Street Band in, and realising this song features in both Home Alone & Love Actually, yet have never listened to it outside of those films... until now!
  2. Little Mix - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) : another discovery this year, a cover of one of my faves ... and in the video their adorable Disney jumpers!
  3. Pentatonix - Joy to the World : last year, I was a tad obsessed with Pentatonix then somehow they slipped through my iTunes playlists, until days agot when they came onto my screens during frequent music channel skimming sessions, and I realised how much I loved them again.
  4. Idina Menzel & Michael Buble - Baby It's Cold Outside : the mini me's in this video are just adorable.
  5. Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday : surely everyone loves this song? This year, in our school's Nativity, this was one of the party songs, and the dance was epic.
  6. Mud - Lonely This Christmas : love, love, LOVE this song.
  7. Jona Lewie - Stop the Cavalry : cue when I was 6 and used to stomp on the top floor of the maisonette (#badneighbours)
  8. Kelly Clarkson - Underneath The Tree : if only I had the singing voice to belt this one out!
  9. Bo Selecta - Proper Crimbo : watching this video, and seeing old and new celebrities ... my favourite cringey song!
  10. Bruce Springsteen - Santa Claus is Coming to Town : it is not Christmas until I've heard this.
