Dune Loves Rupert Sanderson

Fortunes Beauty, Princess, Ella, Dreamgirl, Blazing

Dune London are collaborating with Rupert Sanderson and I have fallen very deeply in love with shoes again. There are five styles, available in a range of colours in each style from pillarbox red to nudes, to clashing blue and red with gold and silver available in both heel and sandal form and a very fitting tribute to Bowie but in shoe form. There is also a clutch bag (Romance) available. Prices start from £99 and go to up to £185 depending on style. I spotted the feature in You magazine this morning (because my Nan is a darling who saves me the magazine out of the Sunday paper!) and the styles I saw stayed in my head all day, so much so I wanted to spread the shoe love. I've actually marked my calendar with April the 1st because I will be buying the Dreamgirl heels - just need to plan a nice little night out to wear them on now!

Barry Island

Oh what's occurring? Barry Island has always been on my hit list to visit for one reason and I am hoping you have realised why by now ... Gavin and Stacey! During my recent trip to Cardiff, I spotted whilst browsing good old Google Maps that Barry Island and Cardiff were quite close, and a bit of research later, realised it was only a thirty minute train ride from Cardiff central and under a fiver to get there, so it was a definite part of the travel plans! If you drive, when I was there I noticed the car park costs £1.50 - all day which is a bargain these days! When we arrive it was cold as it was February but the sun was shining, and it was such a lovely afternoon, and it is an old fashioned seaside town with everything you need to have a good day! There's a mini funfare, with lots of different rides and a wheel (which was terrifying because I'm a wimp but gave lovely views of the beach and sea), fish & chips and arcades full of old school games and 2p machines. My favourite was seeing all of the old mini rides with characters from all my old favourite TV shows such as Tots TV & my sister's 'The Tweenies'. I'm planning on going back this summer, especially after realising there's actually places to visit that were featured in Gavin & Stacey including Gwen's house!

p.s. there is also lots of little souvenir shops along the front that sell flavoured rock, sweets, ice creams and most importantly Gavin & Stacey themed mugs, magnets, tea towels and more. (and fyi, yes I did buy the lot!)

Bleecker Burger

Located just a few steps away from Victoria station is a little gem of a burger joint ... Bleecker Burger. Discovered through Rosie's blog, as soon as I saw her post of the combo burgers and fries this place made, I knew I had to visit. Cheeseburger combinations including bacon, blue cheese or the Bleecker Black which comes with black pudding in the middle. There is a also a veggie burger which comes with tofu & hot sauce which is delicious! Angry fries were an absolute hit - hot sauce and blue cheese sauce on top, and not overly spicy! If you fancy something more plain, there's sweet potato or normal fries, or go for a mix. Burgers are served medium rare (more like rare which I like even better!) and you can eat in or takeaway. I've raved to family and friends about this place and I'm thankful (yes thankful!) that London Victoria is my local station that the train from Kent goes to!

A wander around Borough Market

Before I die I'd like to own 5000 dogs ; just on of the wishes on the wall as you enter Borough Market. Before heading to the cinema and a meal as part of a Groupon present I received for Christmas, Borough Market was just around the corner so I popped in for a wander around. I genuinely cannot believe that for the years I've visited London, been to university at Elephant & Castle and got off of the train at London Bridge that I have walked past Borough Market more than hundreds of times (without realising!) and not actually been inside the market. The market was busy, and there was so much to see, do and taste! I tried oils, breads, turkish delights, baklava, smelt truffles (definitely not for me that one!) and saw such a wide range of foods from all different cultures. I ended up having a hot apple and ginger, buying Whirld fudge and nearly buying all the roast rolls you could hope for under one roof!
